Sleep, glorious sleep!

Beth slept 12 1/2 hours straight last night, and that's all I have to say about that!

LOL

Ok, have to share this tidbit before getting dinner ... Thomas is annoyed that I'm not doing somethingorother and is apparently convinced that when I'm on my computer I'm blogging. In response to my not jumping up from the computer to do whatever he happens to be wanting me to do, Thomas says:

"Mommy not finish doing her bug!"

He makes me nuts, but how cute is that?

Sick

Ugh. Clay passed on his cold to both Thomas and I, I have no voice right now but am feeling better than I did at 6 when Beth woke up to eat. Clay has his first day of work today, so this morning we had to frantically search for the little container we keep the keys in so we could get his passport out of the safe. We never actually found it, but fortunately found an extra key where we keep the house keys.
I found a group of mommies online that live here in the Columbus area and do playgroups and such together, so I'm hoping to get started right away! We're still unpacking lots of boxes, but probably won't get much done while feeling lousy. After we're over our colds we'll try to get started with a playgroup regardless of how many boxes there are - try to get settled in and make friends right away!
Ok, off of here - Beth is awake!

Back again!

Our stuff arrived at the house on Tuesday and we're now unpacking like mad. I've gotten Thomas's room unpacked (I made it a first priority to get him settled in) and I think the kids' bathroom is all the way unpacked - as for everywhere else, well ...
Thomas is in a Big Boy Bed and loves his "Beep-Beep" (Lightning McQueen) bedding. Though when I asked him yesterday afternoon if he liked his bed (he loved it in the morning) he said, "No, I like Daddy's bed." Too bad for him, Daddy's bed is already taken!
Here's a shout-out for my sister-in-law Jill: She's going to be running in the Nike Women's Half Marathon with Team In Training. It's a fundraising adventure for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and she'll be working her tail off to head out to San Francisco in October. It's a seriously major commitment, she can NOT back out once she's said "yes" (which she has). The way it works is they pay for her flight and room out there, but she's got to raise four times the cost. The other three parts go straight to leukemia and lymphoma research - 75 cents of every dollar, in other words. If you look at the stats on fundraising, that's not a bad percentage as is! So, to support a great effort for a great cause go to her TNT page and make a donation! You can keep tabs on how she's doing by reading her blog - send her a word of encouragement whenever you can.
Ok, off for breakfast then more unpacking the Sea of Brown!

New House = Lots of Work!

Ok, sorry I've been off for so long, I haven't been on my computer much at all (I had about 2 dozen blog postings to read from my Bloglines last night) but there's been a lot going on! I'll post pics at some point, probably on Flickr first (it's easier to upload more). Anyway, bought the house, went to KY for Clay's graduation (that he graduated was cool, that we got to see Jill and JR was cool, the ceremony itself was pretty lame). Probably would have been cooler had it been the only thing going on right now. Because of the way the closing costs and $ from the sellers worked out, we actually forked over less cash than our down payment. How's that for cool? They were only estimating that the costs would be about $500 (I have no idea how we got so lucky on that!) then with the $ from the sellers ($1200) taken off that, we paid less than our official down payment. Sweet.
Clay headed back to PA to give his final and be there for the movers. The movers got there today and told Clay it would be 6 hours tops to get everything packed, but they didn't leave the house till about 8 PM (got there around 11 I think) so we must have a lot more crap than we need (or they thought!) Anyway, our stuff should arrive next Monday or Tuesday, so we'll be official Columbus residents soon! I'm thinking that the fact that we're again Ohioans will hit sometime around after our first night sleeping there.
The sellers left the house nice and clean, but we wanted to have everything as nice as we could before getting anything inside, so I've done tons of dusting, vacuuming, and steam cleaning this last week, and Mom and I washed windows today. I'm looking forward to getting everything there and settling in.
Ok, off to sleep now, but figured I'd post a bit of an update for my 4 readers! ;-)
Oh, and my computer isn't working right so don't be surprised if posting's a bit patchy for a while.
